What the held texts say about it
Jaeken and Manoj cite Warburg as arguing that an increased glycolytic-respiratory ratio is the cause of cancer, a claim they say Acebo later confirmed statistically. They use it as the starting point for asking why well-oxygenated tumours convert glucose to lactate, and propose mitochondrial overload with excess reactive oxygen species as an alternative explanation within murburn theory. Other held works invoke the "Warburg effect" without clearly discussing the book itself.
Warburg [70] argued that an increased glycolytic–respiratory ratio is “the” cause of cancer, which was statistically confirmed by Acebo [71].
